Learn how to live with nature and enjoy your time outdoors more.

This course gives you a great opportunity to learn how to process your fire wood, the importance of the 7xP’s and the various forms of ignition that are available to give you the knowledge and skills to be able to light your very own fire using primitive as well as some modern methods.

You will also get to learn ‘Safe Tool Skills’ on how to use a Folding Hand Saw, Hand Axe and a Fixed Bladed Knife by constructing some really useful items that will help you enjoy your time outdoors in either a woodland setting or your very own back garden more; you will be allowed to take the items you made home with you at the end of the course, the instructors with show you how to use the tools safely and support you during your construction of these items.

We will provide a Vegetarian Buffet Lunch with an option of hot /cold snacks depending on the season, Tea, Coffee and Squash will be available at set times during the day to keep you hydrated, the site has flushing toilets and hot running water too.

The afternoon session will comprise of: various man made shelter set ups; using some of the items you made in the morning, useful knots and easy ways to remember them, Tool maintenance / sharpening skills.

The afternoon will also consist of camp hygiene and some basic open fire cooking skills.

The day will close with lots of memories and your very own CPD certificate of attendance.

Additional Information

Max 15 people per course.

Min age limit of 10yrs for any person to do knife skills.

Please bring with you a mug and a drinks bottle (not glass).

Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather and ensure you wear suitable foot wear for outdoors.
