Course Detail

Enhance your outdoor knowledge and learn some simple gamp prep.

This is the follow on course from our very popular Basic Bushcraft Day.

By attending this course we would expect you to have a good knowledge of Basic Bushcraft Skills already.

The day will start with a safety briefing and an overview of the day’s activities around the camp fire with hot crumpets and jam with lots of tea / coffee.

You will be given your very own Mora Knife to use during the day that you will be allowed to take home with you afterwards.

The day will focus on the Three 3’s with your first activity being SHELTER this consist of the instructors explaining the benefits of the different types available and how they are constructed, you will then be able to build your own natural shelter using the surrounding materials available to you; time in the woods always needs to slow down so we will want to focus on the activity at hand and not rush onto the next having said that it will still be a busy day so you will need to pace yourself.

Your next activity will be WATER during this you will learn how to filter and purify water using various methods; this will include collecting water from the trees / plants and from the use of the SUN.

Finally we will focus on FOOD where you will then have a chance to learn how to prep some simple game; Fur, Fish or Feather for a late lunch, this you will cook on the open fire by Dutch Oven, Convection or Fry and by 1 Pot Wonders; this is great time to ask the instructors lots of questions and make new and long lasting friends.

The afternoon will end where you will learn about making natural cordage from the local plants; you will also have an opportunity to make a small leather tinder / possibles pouch to take home too.

The day will close with your very own certificate of attendance and hopefully a list of new found friends.
